Lauletta: Three things from USWNT win over Haiti

Heavy touches, lots of rust, and a bout of poor defending. This is Concacaf qualifying for the U.S. women’s national team. While keeping in mind that the only real goal for the U.S. is to wake up a week from Saturday with a trip to the Olympics to plan, here are three observations from Tuesday night’s 4-0 win over Haiti.

Lynn Williams will get her chance

Earlier this week on The Equalizer Podcast, John Halloran speculated that perhaps Lynn Williams was included on the qualifying roster to play one of the wide positions and attempt to use her speed to facilitate things for teammates. Sure enough, Vlatko Andonovski trotted out the former National Women’s Soccer League MVP on the right side of a three-woman front line.
